Hi! Nice to meet you!
I'm Meg Robinson. I'm a Senior at Samford University studying Journalism & Mass communications with a minor in Sports media and a double concentration in Print Media and Public Relations . I'm starting my fourth year as a student creative for Samford Athletics, Photo Editor for our school newspaper, the Crimson, and I have a strong passion for taking capturing the moments and memories of those around me!
My photography journey started my sophomore year of high school. In 2019,the seeds of my passion for storytelling were planted. What started as mini photoshoots with my sister turned into shooting my first softball game for my high school yearbook. In June of 2021, I was able to photograph my first concert. Throughout high school, my skills grew as I told the stories of championship wins, historic basketball tournaments, and grow closer to the teams I was shooting for. My passion for capturing unseen moments and building relationships with my subjects grew.

My freshman year of college allowed me the opportunity to become a student photographer for our athletics program. There, I learned the basics of editing, cropping, positioning myself during games, workflow, and capturing content at the college level.

As I progressed through my sophomore year, I learned how to travel with teams, collaborate with creatives, make shotlists, experiment with equipment, and even start getting into other sources of media like videography.
​
For my junior year, I focused heavily on the technical aspect of my craft. This means learning the balance between tediously editing each photo before it's sent out while also being efficient in my workflow. Another highlight of this year has been deepening the relationships I've made in the community of Samford Athletics! I love meeting new students, coworkers, and athletes as I tell their stories.

My favorite event I've been able to photograph was the Samford Men's Basketball season of 2023-2024. I was able to travel with them to their conference championship victory, as well as their NCAA tournament appearance! Celebrating this team's hard work with the photos and moments I captured was a huge honor and experience I'll never stop talking about!

The greatest gift this art has given me is the joy I get from sharing my photos with others. ​The electric shock that fills my body when I get the perfect shot is always my sign to keep doing this.
